The ELMS Family Day

The annual ELMS ‘Picnic in the Park’ will take place in the Allied Special Forces Grove on Saturday 05th August. All members and their families and guests are welcome to attend. Car parking is available. There are no costs for attendance. The band will march down to the Arboretum at 1100. Members can follow the band or make their own way after 1100. The ELMS wreath will be laid at 1230 on our ELMS Memorial. After that two new plaques will also be unveiled in memory of Airey Neave and Peter Baker, both of whom saw distinguished service in MI9 and other wartime units. The band will play between 1100 and 1500, and dress is casual. A waterproof and umbrella is advisable, together with a picnic blanket/groundsheet. Benches and chairs will also be available. Please bring your own picnic or purchase from the restaurant. For members with impaired mobility, wheel chairs and mobility scooters are available and can be booked. A land train can take members from the main building to the Grove and to visit other memorials and explore the 300 acre site. This event is organised in conjunction with the Allied Special Forces Association. Members wishing to attend who have not submitted their attendance sheet please contact us via the website or contact the Director directly. We would be grateful if those attending would confirm by 01 August.
